Alpha is a 6-week practical introduction
to the Christian faith designed primarily for non-churchgoers and new
Christians. At each session there is a light supper followed by a talk
on a subject central to the Christian faith. Then participants break
into small groups to discuss the talk in an environment where each
person is free to ask whatever questions and express whatever views
they wish. There is also a Saturday retreat that addresses the subject
of the Holy Spirit.
Alpha is used by churches
and Christian groups around the world. Almost 1,000,000 people have
attended an Alpha course worldwide in the last several years.
