A vital aspect of The Word of God 's
mission as an ecumenical community is to participate in and encourage
cooperation among Christians of all traditions. In Washtenaw County the
Lord is moving to give many churches and Christian ministries a vision for
the breadth of his Kingdom in our midst. A group called Pastors
Alliance for County Transformation [PACT] is spearheading this
effort. We are privileged to be involved in several expressions of
this growing unity:
Monthly PACT Meeting
Each month about 40 Christian
Pastors and Leaders of ministries gather for intercession and
fellowship. Growing over the past 15 years, this group has become the
springboard for many of the other expressions of cooperation seen in the
County.

Annual Prayer Summit
For the last 7 years leaders of
The Word of God have joined with about dozens of Pastors and leaders from around the county
for 3 days of prayer each February. No talks, not discussions, simply humbling
ourselves before the Throne of God.

Transformation for leaders and for our
churches and ministries and for the county flows from these times in God's
presence.

Palm Sunday, April 8, 2001 was
an historic day for Washtenaw County. 2300 Christians from many
church traditions, many races, many worship styles, gathered at the EMU
Convocation Center for one grand celebration of Jesus Christ -- our one
Lord! Over 60 churches officially sponsored the event and folks from
another 30 local churches and 30 more state-wide particapte!
What a sign of our unity in Christ!

Since that time, Christians from across
the County have continued to gather each Palm Sunday to welcome Jesus’
Lordship over Washtenaw
County and to
celebrate our unity in Him.
Come and join us this year!
