Rest in Him

Gal 6:8-10
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Have you ever had an internal conversation with God when you realized that the activities and good things that you are engaged in have become a burden, instead of a life-giving, satisfying partnering with Jesus?
I know I have.
And it's not because we've stopped doing the good thing we've been prompted to do...
I think it happens whenever we just DO the thing without pausing to remember that we intended to do what we do to please the Spirit!
We have forgotten the truth.... that a life of faithfully living to please the Holy Spirit will reap eternal life!
Father, we do pray that you help us be present to you throughout the day. Teach our hearts to rest in you as we do what we do, with confidence that you desire to increase our grateful awareness of the Kingdom life you are intent on giving us.
